About the Role

We are looking to recruit a confident and organised Transport Administrator to support our busy transport operation. This is a key role within the business, assisting with the planning, routing and day‑to‑day administration of vehicle movements while working closely with drivers, transport managers and customers. This position would suit someone with previous experience in the transport industry who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys planning, coordination and problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily planning and routing of vehicles to ensure efficient and compliant operations
- Assisting with transport scheduling, driver allocation and route optimisation
- Acting as a key point of contact for drivers, customers and internal teams
- Managing transport paperwork, including delivery notes, PODs and day sheets
- Updating transport systems and spreadsheets accurately and in a timely manner
- Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner
- Supporting the transport management team with general administrative duties
- Ensuring records are maintained in line with company procedures and compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a transport or logistics environment
- Confidence in planning, routing and coordinating vehicle movements
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast‑paced environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
