About the Role

Play a key part in supporting the Ashcourt (Durham & Tees Valley) business, taking ownership of day‑to‑day ledger activity while contributing to wider accounts tasks. This is a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and support the development of a junior colleague – making it ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, structure, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day management of purchase ledgers, including inputting transactions, reconciling statements, and requesting missing information
  • Processing invoices, allocating payments, and supporting general accounts tasks
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and clients
  • Mentoring a finance apprentice, helping them develop skills and confidence within the team
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Reconciling intercompany ledgers monthly
  • Maintaining an organised and efficient filing system
  • Supporting ad‑hoc projects and wider finance initiatives
