Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00am – 5:30pm; Regular Saturdays 7:00am – 12:00pm (at Manager’s discretion)
Ashcourt Group is seeking an Extractive Mineral Plant Operative to join the team at Anick Grange Quarry, working within our sand and gravel extraction operations. We are looking for an experienced and safety‑focused operator who can work confidently in environments involving below‑water‑table (wet) extraction.
Key Responsibilities- Operate excavators and associated plant within sand & gravel extraction, including wet working below the water table
- Complete all daily plant checks, routine inspections, and report any defects promptly
- Maintain safe excavation depths, monitor water conditions, and follow all site safety protocols
- Work closely with supervisors to ensure safe working zones, compliant operations, and efficient production
- Support wider quarry operations as required
- Uphold high housekeeping standards and adhere to all health & safety procedures
- Valid MPQC Card – essential
- Experience working in sand and gravel extraction, including wet working (below water table)
- CPCS/NPORS for relevant plant is highly beneficial
- Strong awareness of quarry safety rules, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Reliable, self‑motivated, with good communication and situational awareness skills
- Competitive hourly rate: £15 per hour
- Consistent working hours plus regular Saturday availability
