We’re now seeking a Traffic Management Planner to take ownership of our Traffic Management planning, processes, and on-site operations support. This is a varied, hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys both structured planning and working out on site with crews.
This role is responsible for managing and continually improving ACL’s Traffic Management Operations and processes. You’ll work closely with site crews, supervisors, and managers to ensure Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) are compliant, practical, and implemented to a high standard across all work sites. The role is based in Ashburton and is approximately 50% office-based and 50% on-site, providing strong visibility across our projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and manage Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in accordance with COPTTM, NZGTTM and RCA requirements
- Manage and improve company processes and procedures for Traffic Management including risk assessment.
- Coordinate Traffic Management requirements with site teams and support effective on-site implementation
- Monitor on-site Traffic Management practices and complete TMP monitoring and compliance checks
- Oversee Traffic Management resources including signs, cones, barriers, and equipment registers
- Investigate and report Traffic Management-related incidents and support corrective actions
- Provide guidance and support to crews to ensure safe, compliant, and practical traffic control solutions
- Liaise with internal teams, Road Controlling Authorities, and other stakeholders as required
We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised, and confident working both behind a desk and out on site. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in Traffic Management planning and operations
- Strong knowledge of COPTTM and NZGTTM standards and TMP requirements
- The ability to manage and improve systems, processes, and documentation
- Confidence engaging with site crews and leading by example in the field
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and compliance
- Relevant Traffic Management qualifications.
