A Global leading Multi-Disc consultancy based in Greater Manchester is looking for a Director of Sustainability to help lead their office and all aspects of Sustainability. This consultancy has a first-class reputation for delivering projects on some of the most recognisable buildings all over the world.
The role of this new Director is to further develop a brand for this consultancy's Manchester office by improving output, introducing new techniques and products, providing mentorship to Senior and Associate level Consultants/Engineers, and good client relationship management with the view of winning repeat work. This is a great role for someone who wants to join an already successful office setup and strengthen its offering.
Within this role you will be responsible for:
- Client relationship management
- Ensuring resource levels within the office are at the required level
- Hiring of new staff
- Project Director duties
- QA Management within the office
The ideal candidate will need the following skills:
- A strong background in building physics and passive design.
- High level of proficiency in dynamic thermal modelling (ideally using IES software).
- Experience in undertaking Part L Compliance calculations for both non-domestic and domestic buildings.
- An understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies.
- An engineering background and an understanding of mechanical building services.
- High quality report writing skills.
- The preparation of sustainability and energy strategies will be a core part of the job role.
- Skills in assessing the feasibility of renewable and low carbon energy solutions.
- Be able to effectively communicate both inside and outside the business.
- Understand and deal with the commercial aspects of contracts and client interaction, ensuring work undertaken matches the scope and fee.
- Experience of managing and training a team of sustainability engineers.
Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering / environmental or sustainability related subject.
- CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor or equivalent.
