This is a senior leadership position for a Mechanical Associate based in Manchester. You will lead the mechanical design for high-profile UK and international projects, including major sports stadiums, educational facilities, and large-scale commercial developments. The role focuses on delivering sustainable, Net Zero-ready solutions within a multidisciplinary MEP environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Take a lead role in the mechanical team, overseeing project delivery from technical design to final completion.
- Client & Commercial Management: Manage client relationships directly, prepare technical and financial proposals, and monitor project expenditure and financial performance.
- Technical Design: Execute detailed mechanical building services designs and calculations using Revit and IES software, with a focus on low-carbon solutions.
- Team Management: Oversee the workload of engineers and technicians while mentoring junior staff toward career progression.
- Collaborative Design: Work closely with specialist groups in sustainability, facades, and lighting to push the boundaries of HVAC and building technology.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Extensive mechanical design background within an MEP consultancy, specifically acting as a project leader on large-scale developments.
- Education & Chartership: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and professional registration (Chartered status) with CIBSE, IMechE, or a similar body.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Revit and IES, with a solid understanding of British, US, and European design codes.
