Associate / Team Leader – Building Physics EngineerLocation: Built Environment / Sustainability / Building PerformanceAbout the RoleAn established, multi-disciplinary built environment consultancy is seeking an Associate / Team Leader level Building Physics Engineer to join its growing Manchester team. This is a senior technical and leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and grow a building physics capability within a respected national practice. You will lead the delivery of building performance and sustainability services across a diverse portfolio of projects, while mentoring and developing junior engineers. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver building physics and building performance services across a range of project typesOversee thermal modelling, energy assessments, overheating analysis, daylighting, and Part L complianceProvide technical leadership, quality assurance, and review of team outputsAct as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and design teamsSupport the growth and development of the Manchester building physics teamContribute to bids, proposals, and wider business development activitiesMentor and line-manage engineers, supporting professional developmentAbout YouDegree qualified in Building Physics, Engineering, or a related disciplineSignificant experience delivering building physics and energy modelling projects within a consultancy environmentStrong knowledge of UK building regulations, energy standards, and sustainability frameworksExperience using industry software such as IES, DesignBuilder, or similarProven ability to lead projects and support junior team membersConfident communicator with strong client-facing skillsAmbition to play a strategic role within a growing teamWhat's on OfferAssociate-level position with a clear leadership remitOpportunity to shape and grow a regional building physics teamDiverse project portfolio across multiple sectorsCompetitive salary and benefits packageFlexible and hybrid working arrangementsClear progression and long-term career developmentThis role would suit an experienced Building Physics Engineer looking to step into a senior leadership position, or an existing Associate seeking a new challenge within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.
