An established, multi-disciplinary built environment consultancy is seeking an Associate / Team Leader level Building Physics Engineer to join its growing Manchester team. This is a senior technical and leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and grow a building physics capability within a respected national practice.

You will lead the delivery of building performance and sustainability services across a diverse portfolio of projects, while mentoring and developing junior engineers. The role offers a strong balance of hands-on technical involvement, client engagement, and strategic input.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver building physics and building performance services across a range of project types
  • Oversee thermal modelling, energy assessments, overheating analysis, daylighting, and Part L compliance
  • Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and review of team outputs
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and design teams
  • Support the growth and development of the Manchester building physics team
  • Contribute to bids, proposals, and wider business development activities
  • Mentor and line-manage engineers, supporting professional development

About You

  • Degree qualified in Building Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Significant experience delivering building physics and energy modelling projects within a consultancy environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, energy standards, and sustainability frameworks
  • Experience using industry software such as IES, DesignBuilder, or similar
  • Proven ability to lead projects and support junior team members
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
  • Ambition to play a strategic role within a growing team
