A leading developer in London is seeking a Utilities Services Manager. The role involves managing relationships with utility companies, supporting pre-construction and operations teams, setting strategy, and delivering it through team management and leadership.
Duties:
- Maintain procedures and guidance documents
- Identify project team needs and create a look ahead plan with key timings and actions for all utilities services
- Assist the pre-construction team in engaging with third parties to ascertain site constraints, local infrastructure constraints and advise on any foreseen risks or impacts to the project
- Provide technical assistance to early-stage design proposals as part of land acquisition due diligence
- Engage with utility suppliers to acquire budgetary quotations
- Source the most economical point of connection and progress with the PoC to secure future connection and load
- Assist with new Water, Gas and Electrical loads
- Assist with Electrical Sub-Station requirements
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the industry, legislation and latest practices and G81 updates
- Review Utilities design/provision at RIBA design stages 2, 3 and 4
- Review associated utility services requirements e.g. builders work, fire protection, ducts, diverse routes, ventilation etc.
- Liaise with the Construction team to understand their needs for temporary services provision and arrange quotes
Skills:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience working with all Utility disciplines
- Experience of planning and co-ordinating services or site activities
- Experience of managing a small team
- Site experience
- Good understanding of the Electrical aspects associated with Sub-Stations, cable sizing, 3-phase supplies, HV/LV
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
