Specialising in delivering high-quality projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, and healthcare, they are known for their collaborative approach, innovative solutions, and consistent delivery.
Due to a growing project pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join their Chelmsford-based team.
The
Role: As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design management process across multiple live and pre-construction projects, ensuring designs are developed in line with the programme, budget, and client expectations.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, consultants, and supply chain partners to drive innovation and efficiency from concept to completion.
Key
Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
Lead design meetings with architects, consultants, and clients.
Ensure design information is delivered on time and to the required standard.
Identify and resolve design issues and buildability challenges early.
Review tender documentation and contribute to bid strategies.
Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders to support project success.
Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning permissions, and H&S standards.
Requirements: Proven experience in a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager role with a main contractor.
Strong understanding of construction methodology, buildability, and technical detailing.
Experience managing multiple projects across various sectors.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or construction-related discipline.
Proficiency with design software such as Auto CAD, Revit,
