Divisional Technical Services Manager – MEP London, City£100,000 - £110,000Ashbys Consulting are currently recruiting for a Divisional Technical Services Manager (MEP) to work for a global contractor on Science and Healthcare projects in London.

You will lead the building services delivery function of the Science and Health Major Projects cluster with scope to develop a team and expand the role across the business unit.

Roles & Responsibilities: This will include review of documentation and associated outputs during these stages both individually and through leadership of / engagement with TSM's, design managers, MEP estimators, MEP commercial managers.

You will be a key member of our client’s work winning teams by ensuring that they can offer the most innovative and competitive building services solutions, manage our risk and demonstrate their technical expertise.

During the preconstruction periods of our projects, which can be extensive, you will provide hands on management as well as leadership of our teams to ensure design deliverables are met, cost and technical proposals are delivered and engage with clients, suppliers and consultants.

Coordinate and line manage the TSM's reporting to you.

Audit the design at all project stages and identify inconsistencies, discrepancies and missing information and record, report and track the close out of these items in an Information Required Schedule format.

Identify and manage risk from drawings, specifications, design release dates, programme and procurement.

Chair / support delivery workshops with the sub-contractors and client management team, develop the design, workshop drawings and manage the coordination between trades.

Review design development regularly with the Commercial Manager and MEP Estimators to ensure design and commercial aspects are aligned.

Chair / support Design Team Meetings with the consultant designers and record and track information from DTM's.

To deliver a quality service and product to our clients in line with the project goals by working with the professional team and applying our client’s systems, procedures and culture.

Experience: The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and proactive individual who has a background in the delivery of building services on major science and health projects.

You must be able to display an understanding of building construction and sequence and challenge the design to ensure statutory compliance, good practice and to enhance and ensure coordination and build-ability is addressed.

As a Divisional Technical Services Manager, you should be able to lead and manage a team to meet the design output requirements for both traditional contracts and Design & Build.

You will be commercially aware and support the commercial team to identify opportunities arising from design development and equally, manage change control communication that arises from design development.

Able to present to clients as part of a bid team to sell the building services offer, contribute to the technical aspects of tender documents and bids and undertake business development roles.

Good time management skills, presentation skills and be confident to chair meetings.

Individuals should display self motivation and be willing take the initiative.

They should be equally confident working alone or as part of a team.
