Ashbys Consulting are working with one of the leading main contractors in Essex, who are looking to appoint an experienced, qualified, contracting-focussed Quantity Surveyor. The company deliver a variety of residential and commercial projects; including housing, care homes, office units, car showrooms, schools, and public buildings. Projects are a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and restoration, and can be valued up to £8m. Sites are typically located in Essex and the South East, and are delivered for both private and public sector clients. Working in a small commercial team and reporting to the Managing Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of up to three projects at once. You will need a proven track record of managing multiple projects of a similar size and type while working for another main contractor. Right now, the company have a £5m office development due to start in Colchester; as well as a couple of new-build care homes valued up to £7m. Ideally you will be able to take a couple of these projects and deliver them from scratch. This comes from providing a top-class, transparent service to their clients; and fantastic financial and non-financial support and development to their staff. You will be rewarded with a competitive, negotiable salary package including a company car and healthcare scheme; and the opportunity to join a growing team with a huge order book scheduled for the next couple of years.
