Role OverviewAs an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key leadership role within the consultancy, managing a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, overseeing project delivery, and contributing to business development efforts. You will act as a technical lead on major projects while supporting the strategic growth of the mechanical division.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the mechanical engineering team, including mentoring junior staff and overseeing team resourcing.Deliver mechanical design solutions for a range of building services projects from concept through to completion.Undertake detailed technical reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure coordinated and high-quality outcomes.Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.Support business development, attend client meetings, and contribute to bids and proposals.Keep abreast of latest industry innovations, sustainability practices, and regulatory changes.Represent the company at key industry events and forums.RequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards.Minimum 8+ years of relevant UK consultancy experience within the MEP sector.Proven experience leading mechanical design on mid to large-scale projects.Excellent knowledge of relevant regulations, standards (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA, Part L), and software (e.g., Hevacomp, IES, Revit).Strong team leadership and communication skills.
