Ashby is hiring for a role that blends design and software engineering. The candidate will tackle challenging design problems, expand and enhance the in-house design system, and consult on bespoke work to help others improve their designs. The team aims to build approachable products that are powerful for power users, grounded in code and design practice.
Responsibilities
- Redesign mobile web app by talking with customers, wireframing new flows, implementing the design system, and turning wireframes into a working product.
- Build flexible, composable components in the design system to enable engineers to create custom autocompletes with filters and record-creation options.
- Improve information hierarchy and scannability of designs to aid quick parsing of data by recruiters and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, scalable design tokens, and reusable components.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to design and build software, with experience designing complex interfaces and collaborating with engineers.
- Strong fundamentals in software development and an interest in design systems and usability.
- Tech stack familiarity or openness to TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, GraphQL API, Node.js, Postgres, Redis.
- Willingness to learn and adapt across a fast-paced engineering culture that values ownership and collaboration.
