Supporting Advanced Material Testing, Analysis, And Product Validation

Location: Woking

Contract Basis: 6-month contract inside IR35

Support a fast-growing, high-performance automotive engineering environment as a Materials Engineer, contributing to the examination, measurement, and analysis of component materials to ensure demanding quality and performance standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities Of The Materials Engineer

  • Support material investigations, including root cause analysis of failure mechanisms and performance degradation.
  • Carry out material testing strategies, including tensile, impact, fatigue, corrosion resistance, and thermal property evaluations.
  • Assist with sample preparation and microstructural analysis.
  • Provide material test data and observations to support engineering and design teams.
  • Support supplier communication to gather material information and confirm compliance with material specifications.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for stakeholders, supporting product development and validation strategies.
  • Contribute to process improvements within material analysis activities, helping to implement new tools or methods where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team members and support the development of early career students within the team.
