- We are recruiting for an established engineering business in Warwick in the search for a
Project Design Engineer .
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke mechanical and electro-mechanical projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.
The Role
As a
Project Design Engineer , you will be responsible for developing innovative engineering solutions that meet customer requirements while ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, safe and suitable for manufacture.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Designing bespoke mechanical components, assemblies and engineered systems.
- Supporting New Product Development activities.
- Designing robust, cost-effective solutions with manufacturability, assembly and serviceability in mind.
- Carrying out engineering calculations and design verification activities.
- Managing technical documentation and drawing revisions.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- Supporting projects through design, manufacture, assembly, testing, installation and commissioning.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this
Project Design Engineer position, you should have
- Experience within mechanical design, project engineering, manufacturing or bespoke machinery environments.
- Proficiency using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Take ownership of design activities from initial concept through to final delivery.
Desirable Experience
- Engineering degree, HNC/HND or apprenticeship background.
- Autodesk Vault experience.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics or automation systems.
- Experience with FEA, GD&T or machinery safety standards.
