The System Integration Lead Engineer is accountable for the maturation and delivery of customer features and systems into current and future vehicle programmes to sign-off level, in line with programme gateways. Working within a central systems integration environment, the System Integration Lead Engineer ensures seamless cross-functional delivery of features, systems, and software across the full systems design life cycle, supporting planned and controlled integration into vehicle electrical architectures.
Role & Responsibilities
- Accountable for the integration and delivery of customer features and systems to vehicle programmes as a System Integration Lead Engineer.
- Manage the bring-up of features and systems on vehicle and test assets.
- Work cross-functionally to define, communicate, and co-ordinate time-based delivery goals for feature integration.
- Support the Technical Group Lead in the delivery of integrated software to vehicle programmes.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical and timing-related integration issues.
- Maintain and manage the Mainline Integration Plan (MIP) within JIRA, co-ordinating inputs from delivery domains.
- Produce and maintain weekly consolidated Integration Reports, providing transparency of feature and system maturity.
- Support and contribute to bi-weekly integration showcases presented to senior stakeholders and leadership.
- Operate within Agile delivery methodologies to ensure timely and controlled system integration.
Requirements Of The Role
- Thorough understanding of the Systems Design Life Cycle, including system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, design reviews, integration, assessment, and acceptance.
- Proven experience delivering complex mechatronic systems at whole vehicle integration level.
- Strong technical project management capability across engineering product delivery.
- Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks using JIRA toolsets.
- Understanding and hands-on experience with CANalyser, Wireshark, and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Experience integrating and delivering electrical, electromechanical, or software-based systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional engineering teams.
- Degree-level education preferred.
