We are recruiting for a Quality Manager to lead and manage quality assurance and production quality activities within a complex aerospace manufacturing environment. The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations, customer requirements, and quality management standards whilst driving continuous improvement initiatives across the value stream.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, mentor and develop quality engineering teams within the value stream
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives across products, processes and manufacturing operations
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS13100, customer requirements and regulatory standards
  • Manage internal, customer and regulatory audits and maintain audit readiness
  • Oversee quality performance throughout the entire value stream from supplier to customer delivery
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities including Lean and Zero Defects initiatives
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and incoming inspection activities
  • Develop, track and report key quality metrics to support business objectives
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks to ensure product safety and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve performance
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of quality records, reports and compliance documentation
  • Provide leadership support to business stakeholders and site leadership teams

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum five years of relevant industry experience, including at least two years within aerospace environments
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS13100 and aerospace quality management systems
  • Experience working within Part 21 regulatory environments including UKCAA, EASA, FAA or CAAC requirements
  • Proven leadership experience managing quality teams within manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • Experience leading audits, compliance activities and regulatory engagements
  • Demonstrable experience of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies including 8D, A3 and 5 Why
  • Proven success delivering continuous improvement programmes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, regulations and airworthiness requirements
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel between UK sites and occasionally internationally
