Location: Long Eaton. Permanent basis. Pay Rate: £21.60 per hour + Shift Allowance.

This role supports the efficient operation of production machinery, electrical systems, and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend machinery breakdowns, identify faults, determine root causes, and carry out effective repairs.
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and TPM activities and accurately maintain maintenance records.
  • Fault find and repair motors, drives, sensors, control circuits, and PLC‑controlled equipment.
  • Test, commission, and return equipment safely to production following maintenance activities.
  • Support maintenance and fault‑finding activities on robotic and automated production equipment.
  • Assist with hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs and diagnostics.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold a recognised electrical qualification such as Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience working with motors, sensors, inverters, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC‑controlled machinery and automated production equipment.
  • Good problem‑solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.

Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week. Predominantly day shift with flexibility to work rotating shifts.
  • Early shift: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Late shift: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
