An opportunity has arisen for an Issue Management Specialist to oversee the identification, tracking, and resolution of integration issues across complex systems. The Issue Management Specialist role requires strong technical understanding, rigorous process adherence, and clear reporting, without being hands‑on in technical delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification, logging, tracking, and resolution of integration issues across complex systems
- Ensure consistent adherence to established issue and defect management processes
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date issue registers and tracking systems
- Drive issue resolution through clear ownership, accountability, and KPI‑based action management
- Develop, maintain, and present metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators related to defect and issue management
- Provide clear, transparent, and professional reporting to senior stakeholders
- Facilitate regular issue review meetings, ensuring timely follow‑up and escalation where required
- Apply structured root cause analysis and problem‑solving methodologies
- Identify areas of weakness within issue management processes and highlight where additional support is required
- Work within structured project and programme governance frameworks
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the line manager
Requirements Of The Role
- Strong knowledge of issue and defect management processes and tools, suitable for an Issue Management Specialist
- Proven experience developing and interpreting metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards
- Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and structured problem‑solving methods
- Solid understanding of software integration principles and system dependencies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions on complex or sensitive topics
- High attention to detail and strong process discipline
- Experience working within formal project governance environments such as PMO or programme teams
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery models
- Degree educated, or equivalent relevant professional experience
