This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance & Tooling Department within a leading automotive manufacturing facility in Solihull.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, electrical fault finding, and repairs on manufacturing machinery and production equipment. Working as part of the Maintenance & Tooling Department, you will play a key role in maximising equipment reliability, minimising production downtime, and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently to support continuous manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Of The Electrical Maintenance Technician- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise equipment downtime and maintain production output.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Carry out testing and validation following maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment is operating safely and effectively.
- Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Accurately complete maintenance records and ensure all work is conducted in line with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or within a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery or production equipment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering documentation.
- Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Previous experience within an automotive or manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
- Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Maintenance, Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial.
This position is offered on a rolling contract basis, with the opportunity for permanent employment following a successful review period.
Working HoursCandidates Will Work a Rotating Three-shift Pattern:
- Mornings: 06:00 – 13:30
- Afternoons: 13:30 – 21:00
- Nights: 21:00 – 06:00
