The Diagnostics Engineer will lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues during the development phase of an automotive vehicle platform, working within a central systems integration environment to support effective issue resolution across complex vehicle systems.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead early-stage investigation activities to determine urgency and impact of reported systems and software issues.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of data captured to support level 1 triage issue tickets.
- Support and maintain key testing assets used during issue investigation activities.
- Engage directly with complex vehicle issues to support data gathering, problem definition, and root cause analysis.
- Analyse system and software behaviour to identify ownership of issue resolution across engineering teams.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional business areas to ensure issues are clearly understood and correctly prioritised.
- Support the wider objectives of the Central Systems Integration team through effective issue resolution activities as a Diagnostics Engineer.
Requirements Of The Role
- Strong technical background with proven knowledge of electrical and software engineering.
- Knowledge of automotive components, software systems, system architectures, and integrated software solutions.
- Understanding of engineering design principles and the application of quality and problem-solving tools.
- Ability to prioritise workload and lead issue resolution activities individually or within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to act on own initiative in a complex engineering environment.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline, suitable for a Diagnostics Engineer.
