Overview
As a Model Engineer, you will play a key role in managing the development, construction, delivery, and updates of Design Check and Static Validation (DCSV) properties, models, and rigs to support Whole Vehicle Product and Manufacturing release.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, construction, delivery, and updates of properties and models, coordinating with both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that all deliverables meet required specifications.
- Track deliverables and present status with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate progress.
- Effectively manage outsourced work and suppliers in the same technical area.
- Collaborate with Design Check engineers and part owners to manage the BOM and sourcing of parts.
- Provide technical direction to other engineers and departments and lead the technical direction for new projects.
- Propose innovations and seek continuous improvement in property functionality and validation scope.
- Stay current on technological advancements in property design and construction.
- Keep up to date with industry innovations and the relevant Group technical roadmap deployment.
- Represent the company in relevant technical meetings and cross-functional teams.
- Present data, lead meetings, and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Demonstrate specialised knowledge in property design, model construction, and engineering principles.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in the automotive industry or a related field, with a focus on design and construction of automotive reference models and properties.
- Proficient in CATIA V5 and familiar with CAD PLM software (e.g., LCA, TeamCenter).
- Strong project management skills, including development timing, task prioritisation, critical path management, and risk identification.
- An Engineering degree or equivalent qualification is required.
Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitment’s contribution towards Employer Costs.
