The Role Of Aftermarket Buyer
  • Oversee supplier control processes including planning, buying, and expediting materials.
  • Manage and maintain accurate price lists and supplier order books.
  • Utilise MRP systems to forecast material demand and ensure timely procurement.
  • Optimise inventory levels and working capital through effective stock control.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to departmental KPI targets.
  • Provide regular communication across departments to streamline operations.
  • Support new product introduction from customer requests through to material sourcing.
  • Expedite late deliveries to minimise vehicle off-road (VOR) scenarios.
  • Take part in periodic stocktaking and continuous improvement initiatives.
Aftermarket Buyer Experience Needed
  • Previous experience in buying, planning, or scheduling within the automotive aftermarket or a similar sector.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and stock management principles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing on new and existing products.
  • Proven communication and team-working abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment and resolve daily supply issues quickly.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
