We are working in partnership with a reputable main contractor who is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a £25 million social housing project based in Welwyn. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to develop their career on a large-scale project while working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The Role:
- Assisting in the commercial management of a £25m social housing scheme
- Reporting directly into a Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Assisting with subcontract order preparation and placement
- Carrying out measurement of trade packages
- Supporting cost control, forecasting and reporting
- Assisting with subcontract procurement and package management
- Preparing and agreeing valuations and variations
- Working closely with site and project management team
The Ideal Candidate:
- Current experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Assistant
- Experience working for a main contractor preferred
- Background in social housing or residential projects advantageous
- Confident with measurement and subcontract administration
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Relevant construction or commercial qualifications (or working towards)
