A well‑known London‑based main contractor, who also delivers spec housing, is currently looking to secure a Head of Design & Technical on a FTC. The company originally made its name within the industry for delivering new‑build social housing schemes, but in recent times has started producing housing for sale.
Reporting into the Regional Technical Director, you will be tasked with leading an in‑house team of 10 as well as external consultants. This role would suit a person who feels they are close to being a Director but maybe don’t quite have that final stage of experience. You would be expected to hit the ground running and have previously worked for a similar main contractor or developer, with up to date knowledge on legislation.
The ideal candidate MUST have:
- Experience working for a Main Contractor or Developer on large residential or social housing projects.
- Working as at least a No.2 in a technical department.
- The ability to work on your own initiative.
It is desirable to have:
- Construction related further education.
- Ideally 10+ years’ experience working on residential projects.
