Our client is seeking an experienced wood CNC operator / CNC programmer to take a key role within their manufacturing operation in Belvedere. The position is critical to the production of high quality fire rated door sets and involves CNC machining of wooden frames and door cores. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating and maintaining our two CNC machines, one of which is Homag and the other is Biesse. The successful candidate will have to ensure consistent accuracy, efficiency and quality output to maintain the company’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • CNC Machining of wooden frames and door cores for fire rated door set production
  • Programming, setting up, and running our CNC machines on a daily basis
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, cutting lists and specifications
  • Ensuring all components are machined accurately and to the required tolerances
  • Monitoring machine performance and maintaining consistent production output
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and basic fault finding on the CNC machine
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Working closely with management and production teams to meet manufacturing targets.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Extensive knowledge and experience operating and programming wood CNC machines
  • Proven experience running a CNC machine daily in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong numerical skills and confidence working with measurements and tolerances
  • Excellent ability to read and understand technical drawings and production paperwork
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently in a key trusted role
  • Experience within the fire door industry (highly desirable but not essential)
