Job Description
A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Gerrards Cross. This is an exciting opportunity to work on international hospital and healthcare construction projects. There is a wide geographical scope and projects could be located in Europe, Middle East, Caribbean, Africa or Asia.
Initially, the role will be pre-construction focused, supporting the planning and development of major international healthcare schemes. During this phase, occasional international travel will be required to visit sites, liaise with clients, consultants and local delivery teams. Once projects go live, you can continue to be based in the UK, or there will be the opportunity to relocate and take a key role in delivering the scheme on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process for hospital and healthcare construction projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Oversee compliance with healthcare construction regulations and standards.
- Manage design development, approvals, and coordination with architects and engineers.
- Support value engineering and risk management initiatives.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a similar capacity on large hospital / healthcare construction is essential.
- Experience working for Tier 1 main contractors is essential. An Architectural design background is desirable.
- International project experience is advantageous.
- Ability to lead complex designs and liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
