About Us

At Ashbourne Day Nurseries, we provide high-quality childcare in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. Founded in 2008, we’ve grown from our first nursery in Oxley Park, Milton Keynes, into a family of nurseries in unique and inspiring locations, from purpose-built settings to farms and listed buildings. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring every child has the best possible start in life. Our team is passionate about creating a supportive, positive environment where children feel valued, and we’re looking for Bank Staff to join us and help us continue this mission.

Your Role as Bank Staff

As Bank Staff, you’ll be supporting the nursery team by providing flexible, ad-hoc cover for shifts as needed. Whether it’s helping out when a team member is off sick, covering busy periods, or lending a hand during events, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. You’ll get to work with children across different age groups. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for flexible work in a childcare setting while still making a positive impact on the children’s development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing flexible cover across all age groups and rooms, as required
  • Assisting with the care, education, and development of children in line with the EYFS framework
  • Supporting the nursery team with daily activities, play, mealtimes, and naptime
  • Ensuring the nursery is a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, and the wider team
  • Helping with observations and recording children’s progress, where needed
  • Adhering to all nursery policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and cleanliness

About You

  • A passion for working with children and helping them grow and develop
  • Experience in an early years setting is preferred, but not essential
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to step into different rooms and age groups
  • A friendly, positive attitude with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required
  • Willingness to learn and follow the nursery’s safeguarding and health & safety guidelines

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate and flexible working hours
  • The opportunity to gain experience across various age groups and settings
  • A supportive, welcoming team that values your input and flexibility
  • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of children, even on a part-time or ad-hoc basis
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities if you want to further your career in childcare
