About Us
Ashbourne Day Nurseries is one of the UK's largest nursery groups, with 40 settings nationwide. The group includes sister companies: Fafunia, a UK designer and manufacturer of nursery furniture, and Crestmark, a childcare-focused facilities management company. This is a period of significant growth and transformation across the group, and you will play a central role in shaping how our brands look, sound and feel.
The Role
We are looking for a talented content and brand professional to own the planning, production and distribution of written and visual content across Ashbourne Day Nurseries, Ashbourne Recruitment and Fafunia. You will ensure everything we publish - from a nursery blog post to a Fafunia product page - is on-brand, high-quality and commercially effective. You will work closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing, executing against a clear strategic direction while bringing creativity and initiative to every brief. The role is hybrid remote, with 1-2 days in the office per week (Milton Keynes) with a mandatory Wednesday in office. This role is maternity cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Written Content: Plan, write and edit content across the Ashbourne and Fafunia brands, including web copy, blog content (long and short form), PR and internal communications, video scripts and campaign copy. Upload and maintain all written content on the CMS (WordPress), ensuring it meets brand guidelines and is optimised for search and readability.
- Visual Content & Design: Produce design assets for print (banners, flyers, posters, signage) and digital (social media, web, email) using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, often leaning on templates. Manage relationships with agency partners and freelancers to coordinate production of visual assets and templates where needed. Upload, format and quality-check all visual materials on the CMS, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
- Photography/Videography Management: Commission and brief photographers for nursery and product photo and video shoots across the estate. Manage the group image library, maintaining organised, up-to-date and brand-compliant photography across all 40 sites. Maintain visual standards and consistency across settings, identifying gaps and scheduling shoots proactively.
- Campaign Management: Contribute to the planning and delivery of key marketing campaigns, particularly those with significant content requirements.
- Brand Management: Act as brand custodian across the group, ensuring brand standards are upheld in every piece of copy, design and visual output at every level of the business. Execute brand design work including signage, merchandise, digital assets and collateral, working to strategic direction from the Head of Sales & Marketing and Sales & Marketing Director. Support brand development and refresh projects, producing materials for new or evolving brand identities across the group.
Skills & Experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent copywriting, editorial and design work.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Canva.
- Confident working in WordPress or similar CMS platforms, including content upload, formatting and basic page building.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Solid understanding of brand identity, tone of voice and visual consistency.
- Experience coordinating with external agencies, freelancers or photographers.
- Digital marketing knowledge and experience (desirable).
- Basic video editing skills (desirable).
What We Are Looking For
- Exceptional attention to detail across both copy and design.
- A sharp design eye and strong aesthetic sensibility.
- Naturally creative, with the initiative to solve problems and bring new ideas without being asked.
- Comfortable working across multiple brands simultaneously and flexing tone between B2C (Ashbourne) and B2B (Fafunia, Crestmark) audiences.
- Organised and deadline-driven, able to manage competing priorities across a multi-site business.
- Curious, experimental and always looking to raise the bar.
