Supervising Children’s Social Worker

Location: Shropshire Council

Team: Fostering, Support and Development

Rate: £33.30

Duties:

  1. Be a member and team player of an established Support and Development service.
  2. Have good knowledge and experience working in accordance with Fostering regulations and NMS standards.
  3. Ensure all compliance for foster parents is updated and recorded on LCS. Communicate and support foster parents with trauma-informed understanding and therapeutic principles.
  4. Supervise foster carers, ensuring all key areas of the role are discussed, recorded, and challenged where necessary.
  5. Carry a caseload of foster parents and complete all tasks in accordance with the role of Supervising Social Worker.
  6. Efficiently record fostering annual reviews and present them to panel when required. Attend team meetings and support colleagues as needed.
  7. Participate in a duty rota, supporting foster carers and completing viability assessments twice per month.

We offer a hybrid work-from-home policy with access to office space at the Guildhall building in Shrewsbury (Foster parents mainly reside in Shropshire County).

Ability to work more from home with occasional office presence (more office presence available if desired).
