A Social Worker Team Manager is required for Tameside Children's Services, Cared for Children Service. The successful applicant will be managing up to 7 Social Workers who are allocated Cared for Children subject to Care Orders, or cared for under section 20 of the Children Act 1989. They will be expected to provide personal and child supervision, offer support, advice and guidance to team members, have oversight of practice and performance, and engage with the organisational priorities.
Tameside is currently on an improvement journey, and applicants should have experience of managing a Cared for Children team and will be required to support the service in improving practice and delivering improved outcomes for children. This is an exciting time for the service due to ongoing work being undertaken to achieve permanence for children, through reunification of cared for children with their parents, Special Guardianship Order applications, and discharge of Care Orders.
The service is based at Ashton Old Library, Ashton-Under-Lyne. Staff are expected to be in the office 3 days per week.
