Ashberry recruitment are currently seeking for an experienced Female support worker in the housing sector, to work as part of a wonderful team at a Service in Sheffield which provide daily support and accommodation to female individuals suffering from homelessness, substance misuse and mental health issues.

This post would be 16 hours per week (Plus overtime which is often needed) with the view for the service manager to review after a month, and interview for a 40 hour post.

ABOUT THE JOB & SERVICE

This Service is ran by a well established housing organisation and charity, who for years have provided housing support, advice and accommodation to vulnerable individuals across the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work along side support workers/specialist support workers and report to service manager.
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with clients, taking them out to appointments, lunch or for coffee etc.
  • Regularly interact with the residents through arts and crafts, games, general chats.
  • Monitor CCTV to make sure nobody enters the building unauthorised.
  • General cleaning duties as and when needed.
  • Change/wash bedding as and when required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Experience working with Vulnerable individuals in a life house/ Hostel setting.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system, housing knowledge and homelessness/substance misuse/mental health awareness.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS with adult+Child Barring
  • A full UK Driving License + Car

  • Any in date Housing Certificates/ Qualifications
  • NVQ level 3 in Health & Social care
