Tameside are looking for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to chair reviews for our Cared for Children, undertake practice impact reviews (audits), undertake IRO visits and complete midpoint reviews.

The cared for reviews are in person (i.e. not virtual) and typically take place at the placement.

Candidate must have prior experience as a Team Manager (children's social care) and/or as IRO.

The successful candidate will take over a caseload of approximately 60 children/young people which were previously not as well managed as they could have been, so there will initially be a significant amount of arranging to organise the caseload.

Typical caseload for IROs are around the 85 at present, and the lower caseload reflects the additional organisation which will be required. In due course the allocated children will rise to be in line with the other IROs.
