Moorhouse Care Home in Hindhead, Surrey provides up to 36 elderly residents with high quality dementia and residential care.

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Second Chef to support our catering team in delivering freshly prepared, nutritious, and appetising meals. The role includes menu planning, food preparation, stock control, and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve balanced, high‑quality meals in line with residents’ dietary needs.
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
  • Adapt meals for residents with modified or specialist diets.
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience that promotes residents’ wellbeing.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in care or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of dietary needs for older adults.
  • Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a small team.
  • Passion for creating delicious, comforting food that residents enjoy.
