For Companies Medium sized care home requires a Laundry Assistant. 1 x 40 hour contract. (Hours of work 07:00-17:30) Working a 2 week rota with 1 day every other week covering domestic.
Main Purpose of Job: To be aware of the service users' laundry needs. To ensure that every service user enjoys clean and well-maintained laundry and that this is presented to the required standard.
Principle Responsibilities:
- To manage the laundry procedures and required throughput of laundry, thereby preventing unnecessary build-up.
- To ensure that clean laundry is identified for distribution to service users' rooms.
- To ensure a regular supply of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the de-fluffing of the dryer(s), reporting any defects to the Manager/Maintenance Man as appropriate.
- To ensure the correct use of laundry bags with particular regard to soiled and infectious linen.
- To allocate clothes to their appropriate baskets.
- To keep the laundry room and store area in clean and hygienic condition.
- To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
- To ensure that all clothing is marked with the service users' name.
Accountable to: Registered Manager, Head Housekeeper
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.25 per hour
Benefits: Company pension, On-site parking
Ability to commute/relocate: Warrington WA5 2PN: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
