The Company: Our client is a successful subsidiary of a long established, privately owned British multi-national manufacturing Group headquartered in the UK with operations in the UK, North America, Mexico, China and Malaysia.
The Job: Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, based in Bristol, this is a hands-on, front line role combining Sales, Technical Support and relationship management, collaborating with clients to understand their needs and developing solutions that align with their operational and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain long term customer relationships.
- Deal promptly with incoming enquiries, assess customer needs and work closely with clients offering pre and post-sale technical guidance, application support and the development of competitive quotations that deliver profitable solutions and solid conversion rates.
- Support the growth and retention of your customer base - monitoring evolving market conditions, competitor activity and capitalising on emerging opportunities.
- Develop a solid understanding of our product portfolio, competitors and market positioning.
- Research and develop new business opportunities and the potential for diversification.
- Client base management - maintain effective and forward diary planning, taking into account geographic sales activity, optimising face-to-face client contact and effectively communicating product capabilities and new developments to key decision makers.
- Support the wider commercial team assisting with budget and reporting activity and the preparation of client presentations.
- On a rota basis, as part of a two man team, visit client premises to fit new products to existing laundry equipment, stripping down, cleaning and fitting new padding together with appropriate fault rectification.
The Person:
- Previous experience of an appropriate discipline - technical sales, sales engineering, technical support or applications engineering is a pre-requisite - although this need not necessarily have been gained from within the commercial laundry sector.
- Hands on experience as a Fitter - not necessarily from within the commercial laundry sector will also be sought.
- Organised and methodical, high order communication and presentation skills.
- Technically astute with the ability to understand customer requirements and propose tailored solutions that lead to growth opportunities.
- Able to respond intelligently to RFQs and prepare technical proposals, specifications and quotations.
- Able to develop trusted, ongoing client relationships whilst employing a strategic mindset and proactive approach to sales and growth.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently - whilst also contributing positively within a wider team environment.
- Full clean, UK driving licence.
