Site Accountant – Sheffield – c£35 to £40k relevant to experience and qualifications Role Purpose We seek an experienced Accountant to support the leadership team in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and efficient finance operations within a well established business services provider. The appointee will play a key role in the month-end close process, along with supporting the Management team within all areas of the department and ensuring the finance function effectively supports the wider organisation. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End Preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. Assist with compliance for VAT, PAYE, Plastics Tax and statutory reporting. Support AP/AR ledgers as needed. Weekly supplier payment run Monitor overdue debt and support credit control activities. Review supplier statements and resolve discrepancies. Support weekly and monthly group reporting Support with year-end including liaising with external accountant and audit queries. Support the administration and renewal of supplier and customer contracts Cover for Payroll administration Support the HR function Skills & Experience Required Excellent Excel skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Previous accounting experience Experience using Xero systems beneficial Accounting Qualification Personal Attributes Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to deep-dive into numbers. Strong communication skills Highly organised, able to prioritise in a fast-paced production environment.
