Asendia UK is seeking a motivated Junior to Mid‑Level Developer to join our IT team on a fixed‑term basis. This role sits within a fast‑paced eCommerce logistics environment and will contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our multi‑application full‑stack platform, supporting the full logistics lifecycle from order capture through to last‑mile delivery.
The successful candidate will support day‑to‑day operational needs, including handling support tickets and routine configurations to help reduce the current backlog. In addition, the role will play an important part in progressing key technical debt and security initiatives, such as server upgrades and application migrations. You will also contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of core UK systems that underpin our operational processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain features across full‑stack web applications using modern frameworks
- Produce clean, well‑tested, and well‑documented code aligned with team standards
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Test Analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Investigate and resolve bugs across development, staging, and production environments
- Support integrations with third‑party logistics APIs, carrier systems, and warehouse management tools
- Adopt new technologies and frameworks as the platform evolves
- Proficiency in at least one backend language and associated frameworks (e.g., C#, PHP)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration patterns
- Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., TSQL) and intermediate SQL
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles
- Experience with automated testing and unit testing
- Exposure to DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins) and source control (Git/BitBucket)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Exposure to Windows Server, IIS, and related services
- Understanding of logistics, warehousing, or supply chain concepts
- Enhancement of ASUK back‑office software, including delivery of new UIs and functionality to streamline common tasks
- Simplification of customer onboarding processes
- Expansion and maintenance of technical documentation
- Reduction of technical debt through migration of legacy platforms and applications
- Enhancement of automated testing coverage to improve software quality, reliability, and deployment confidence.
