Responsibilities
- Provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities.
- Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
- Assess and identify vulnerabilities and work proactively to minimise risk.
- Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
- Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to minimise distress.
- Complete colleague and contractor searches when required in line with customer policy.
- Digitally report incidents and use tablets or phones for daily activity planning.
- Provide detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities.
All employees are required to act professionally, co-operatively and flexibly in line with the requirements of the position.
Location: Southampton
Hours: 50 hours per week. Shift Pattern: Mon: 11:00‑19:00, Tue: 10:00‑19:00, Thu: 10:00‑19:00, Fri: 10:00‑19:00, Sat: 09:00‑18:00, Sun: 10:00‑16:00 (50 Hours)
Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour.
Requirements
- To be an effective Security Officer you must be a confident communicator, welcoming and patient with customers, and able to handle conflict professionally.
- A valid SIA Guarding or Door Supervisor licence is required.
- Previous experience in a Retail Security role is advantageous.
- Applicants must provide a full 5‑year checkable work or education history, and bring right‑to‑work documents and proof of address for interview.
