Hourly Rate: Site dependent, between £12.71– £15.00 per hour

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible deterrent, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.
  • Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
  • Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
  • Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
  • Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress.
  • Complete colleague and contractor searches when required, in line with customer company policy.
  • Digitally report incidents and use tablets or phones for daily activity planning.
  • Produce detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities.

The Person

To be an effective Security Officer, you must be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity or incidents. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict in a calm and professional manner.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • You must hold a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
  • Previous experience in a retail security role is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • You must be able to provide a full five-year checkable work or education history.
  • Applicants must bring right to work documents and a recent proof of address to the interview.
