Role Summary
Reporting into the Area Manager, the Pharmacy Practice Manager role blends patient care with commercial focus. The role leads, coaches, and develops the pharmacy team to deliver excellent patient experience, achieve exceptional safety levels, and meet pharmacy‑related targets and deadlines. The manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of professional customer service and compliance with GPhC operating standards and clinical governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the pharmacy team to provide excellent patient experience and achieve high safety standards.
- Take direct responsibility for the support and development of all direct reports and locums, maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
- Manage pharmacy targets and deadlines, ensuring the store pharmacist and pharmacy colleagues meet all performance objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical and service based questions, collaborating with in‑store, regional and home‑office teams.
- Support a profitable business by balancing patient care and commercial focus.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC.
- Accredited to deliver national and local services for the NHS and private healthcare.
- Ability to act as both line manager and pharmacist, delivering a safe working environment.
- Experience in motivating and inspiring a team to meet KRAs and deliver results.
- Experience in challenging, confronting and solving difficult situations, maintaining solid connections with store and field teams.
- Valid GPhC registration, right to work in the UK, safeguarding qualifications, DBS check, and enrolment in the live update service.
