Overview

Reporting into the Area Manager, the Pharmacy Practice Manager role is a hybrid of both patient care and commercial focus that requires a strong leader with a passion for healthcare, patients and driving a profitable business. This role is accountable for delivering all Pharmacy-related targets and deadlines and management of the store Pharmacist and Pharmacy Colleagues, supporting the drive to make Asda Pharmacy the best in class.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the pharmacy team to deliver excellent patient experience, achieving high levels of patient safety.
  • Take direct responsibility for the support and development of all direct reports and locums to maintain high standards of professional customer service and compliance within GPhC operating standards and clinical governance.
  • Collaborate with in-store, regional and home office teams to ensure support for clinical and service queries.
  • Manage scheduling and shift patterns (including week-by-week coverage) to support business and patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC
  • Accredited to deliver national and local NHS and private healthcare services
  • Ability to balance the role of line manager and pharmacist to deliver a safe working environment
  • Ability to deliver results by inspiring and motivating the team to meet defined KRAs
  • Experience in handling difficult situations while maintaining strong connections in-store and with field teams

Additional Requirements

When applying, you must possess a valid GPhC registration, evidence of the right to work in the UK, and relevant safeguarding qualifications. DBS check and live update service enrollment are required. If successful, you will need to demonstrate qualifications and identity through appropriate documentation.
