About the Role
To be employed in this role you must pass an enhanced safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, which brings a wide variety of shift patterns – if you’re looking for flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, look no further! We’ll work with you on your shifts, but weekend working is a requirement of the role and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern.
Our in‑store pharmacies are hugely popular with customers who expect the same warmth and friendliness they get everywhere else in the store – as well as confidence and a relaxed approach to discussing personal health issues. You will be responsible for quickly resolving customer problems and guiding people to the right products. You will also spend time accurately assembling and processing prescriptions.
It will be your responsibility to drive awareness of all the extra services we offer in pharmacy (e.g., Prescription Collection Service, Medicines Use Reviews). You will support the pharmacist with the delivery and effective record‑keeping of patient services (blood pressure checks, stop‑smoking schemes, etc.). You will develop an understanding of the strict standard operating procedures and adhere to them, as customers will expect nothing less. You will also collect prescriptions from doctors’ surgeries on their behalf and bring them to the store ready for collection.
We will help you become a star pharmacy colleague – you will complete an accredited course to become a qualified medicine counter assistant within 6 months and then train as a dispensing assistant to complete your pharmacy training. Each step of the way you bring something extra to our service and move your career forward.
About You
You’ll be naturally friendly, highly organised and eager to get stuck in, working with your team to deliver great results. You have good computer skills, attention to detail and excellent communication with customers. You love problem solving, are passionate about helping people, and care about giving customers a great healthcare experience – helping them find what they need and engaging in a friendly chat along the way.
