The Project Manager – George Clothing Standalone Stores is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of projects relating to the development, refit, opening, and optimisation of George standalone clothing stores. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to brand and operational standards, supporting the growth and performance of the George Clothing estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle for standalone store projects, including new store openings, refurbishments, relocations, and format trials.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed scope, cost, time, quality, and safety standards.
  • Act as the key point of contact for cross‑functional stakeholders including Property, Retail Operations, Trading, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, and external suppliers.
  • Coordinate external partners such as landlords, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
  • Provide clear, regular project updates and escalated risks or issues appropriately.
  • Deliver projects aligned to the George brand, customer expectations, and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with retail teams to ensure stores are operationally ready for handover and opening.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving project delivery standards and ways of working.
  • Support cost efficiencies, standardisation, and pace of delivery across the standalone store programme.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience delivering retail property or store development projects.
  • Strong project management capability, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to sites as required.

  • Experience in fashion or clothing retail environments.
