We are looking for an experienced and proactive Internal Communications Manager to lead, develop, and deliver engaging communication strategies that connect, inform, and inspire more than 130,000 colleagues across 1,100 Asda sites. This role will be pivotal in strengthening our internal narrative, enhancing our culture, and supporting effective communication across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a cohesive internal communications strategy aligned to our Formula for Growth turnaround plan.
- Manage and evolve our internal communications channels, ensuring messages are clear, timely, consistent, and accessible to all colleagues.
- Support with the development and optimisation of digital communication platforms, including Viva Engage (Yammer).
- Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns that help colleagues understand key initiatives, organisational changes, and strategic priorities.
- Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic communication advice, messaging support, and content development.
- Draft, edit, and curate high‑quality content, including announcements, articles, speeches, FAQs, and presentations.
- Monitor and analyse engagement metrics to improve our communication effectiveness.
- Support organisational events such as town halls, leadership briefings, and colleague engagement activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications in a complex organisation.
- Hands‑on experience using (and preferably launching) digital communication tools, such as Viva Engage (Yammer).
- Strong storytelling, copywriting, and editing skills with the ability to tailor tone and format to different audiences.
- Demonstrated capability in managing multi‑channel internal communication campaigns.
- Ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and constructive challenge.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience using data and insights to evaluate communications impact and improve future delivery.
