About the role
Working within the George Home team, you will be responsible for delivering a commercial range alongside the Buyer, whilst also looking after the planning and weekly trading of your category. Maximising sales and profit is key, whilst ensuring availability for our customers at the same time. This role will be challenging and fast paced. Merchandising is key to our success, and you\βll help us deliver the goods in this area β making sure that our customers get exactly what they want, exactly when they want it.
The ins and outs
- Working directly with Buyer to set the category strategy.
- Delivering the business plan β working on longer term strategy and short-term proactive sales driving activity.
- Driving the business to maximize profit in-season.
- Developing strong relationships with suppliers.
- Managing product critical path and lifecycle to ensure launch availability and full availability on continuity lines.
- Accurate forecasting of sales, stock turn and markdown to achieve maximum profit.
- Planning of markdown activity
- Analysis of sales data to provide recommendations for range control, budgeting & selection for future seasons.
- Working closely with the buying team to further understand our customer needs & competitor activity
- This is a fast-paced role, and the ability to switch between longer term strategy and immediate trading priorities is key.
