Overview
A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations, supporting the Dispensing Optician Manager with training, coaching and maintaining departmental standards, and contributing to the delivery of services under NHS contracts.
Responsibilities
- Perform eye examinations, contact lens fittings and extended service evaluations.
- Provide high quality patient care and service to customers.
- Support Dispensing Optician Manager and colleagues by providing training and coaching.
- Maintain all departmental standards and support NHS extended service contracts.
Qualifications and Experience
- A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
- A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
- MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us).
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
- Ability to deliver a memorable customer experience with passion for the role.
- Passion for developing new patient services and shaping the department culture.
Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in.
- Provide 2 clinical references.
- For Wales applicants, evidence of WECS and WGOS accreditation is required.
