As Asda closes down its separation from Walmart, would you like to be part of our optimisation and recovery phase of the plan? As Asda’s Enterprise Architect – Supply and Logistics, you will be the EA responsible for our Forecasting and Fulfilment, Space management, Ops clock, Warehouse management, Warehouse automation, Transport Management and Parcel management capabilities. Working closely with our Tech and Business teams defining the technology strategy, roadmaps, architecture and patterns to deliver next generation systems to one of the UK's leading retailers. This is a permanent role.
What you’ll love:
- Take on the challenge of leading the architecture and design of ASDA's systems landscape within our Supply and Logistics domain.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide domain support for the full delivery and architecture operational lifecycle within the Business Unit, actively supporting its success in design, development, test, go-live and within operation.
- Creating and managing the enterprise technology strategy, roadmap and architecture for Asda’s Supply Chain and Logistics systems.
- Task managing the Solution Architect Manager and solution architect team; providing technology leadership, mentorship and communicating clear direction.
- Applying an agile mindset - balancing business strategy with the timelines available, and determining how technologies can best fulfil our colleagues' needs.
- Producing our technology transition roadmaps and patterns, bringing into play several factors such as industry and domain best practice, available technologies and business need.
- Working closely with senior business and technology leaders within our organisation to shape the vision, and being seen as the go-to point for that technology vision.
- Supporting the programme teams to deliver the programme outcomes in the timelines required.
- Being part of the Technology Extended Leadership team to drive positive change into the function.
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years of experience operating as an Architect in large enterprise environments. Supply or Logistics domain knowledge advantageous.
- Strong technology foundations; good working knowledge and practical experience of platform, integration, data and security technology patterns and concerns.
- Capable of working within complex architectural landscapes, defining transition and target architectures.
- Expertise within architectural frameworks and practices, ideally TOGAF and ArchiMate.
- Experience working with delivery teams.
- The role is flexible but with a minimum of 3 days in Asda House in Leeds.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience of the architecture and delivery of systems within Warehouse Management, Warehouse Automation, Forecasting and Fulfilment or space management.
- Experience of defining and optimising the sequencing of the batch schedules for overnight processing would be an advantage.
Please note this role has no direct reports, however there is a need to coach or mentor other colleagues.
