About the Role
Our operation runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with that brings a wide variety of shift patterns – if you’re looking for flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, then look no further! We’ll work with you on your shifts, but weekend working is a requirement of the role, and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern.
Customers tell us that their local community really matters to them, that’s why our Store Community Assistant role brings stores and colleagues closer to their local communities.
As an Asda Community Assistant, you will support local charities and good causes, through your work and with the Asda Foundation. We’re passionate about our national partnerships with Tickled Pink and Children in Need, and you’ll be responsible for getting the whole store behind fundraising activities for both campaigns.
You’ll also be responsible for:
- Providing great levels of service in and outside of the store as you’ll become an ambassador for Asda within the local community
- Building and managing external relationships within our local communities
- Communicating store activity to your local community through local press, radio and newsletters
- Driving engagement of community activities and fundraising with our customers and colleagues including sharing stories about the work you’re doing on our internal communication channels
- Overseeing budgets and donation requests, delivering legal compliance accurately and on time
We’ll work with you on your shifts, but the chances are you’ll have to work some evenings and weekends and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern – there’s something to suit everyone.
About You
You’ll be naturally friendly and want to get stuck in, working with your team to deliver great results. You care about the community and working with local schools, governments and local charities. As you’ll be out and about and interacting with the local community including vulnerable groups, you’ll need to be over the age of 18 and able to pass an enhanced level safeguarding check.
Everything you’ll love
Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll get lots of other great benefits too, including:
- Colleague discount: 15% off your shopping at Asda from day 1 for you and a nominated user
- Discounted rates and special offers on Asda services such as Mobile, Pharmacy, Opticians, Personal Loan, Pet Insurance, Travel Insurance, Travel Money, Tyres, Breakdown Cover
